How We Resource

</aside>

The IT subcommittee — in partnership with the Operations Team and Management Team — carefully curates a whole suite of software applications designed to help our staff accomplish effective ministry as efficiently as possible. We’re here to serve you with technology, technical support, training, and this best practices guide.

Support

The church IT service provider and IT subcommittee-approved vendors are the only ones authorized to service any church-owned equipment. This includes opening computer cases and adding or removing computer cards, cables, memory, or other equipment from within or attached to any computer.

Our Priorities

We believe that our solutions should be:

Scalable

The ability to add or remove components to meet changing needs is an important consideration for any organization that aims to grow. A scalable IT solution stack helps to ensure that our church can continue to operate without any major problems as it grows.

Easy to use

In service to our staff and lay leaders, we encourage intuitive and easy-to-learn solutions. Easy-to-use solutions help reduce the learning curve for new users and make it more likely that they will adopt and use the provided tools effectively. In particular, we want to encourage collaboration and accessibility, and inclusivity.

Supportable

We aim to keep clear documentation, a strong community of staff best practices, and a responsive support team for our IT systems and tools. This makes it easier to maintain and troubleshoot, to keep everything up and running smoothly even when problems arise.

Professional

In combination, we aim for solutions that support reliable, secure, and scalable operations. Our team prioritizes meeting the needs of all sizes of ministries, reliably and securely. We also want to make our operations scalable, so the ministry will grow without having to change IT infrastructure.

Goals

With any technology, we balance between the value it offers and the risks it exposes:

Values

Risks

God has provided us with a variety of technologies to help fulfill the mission and vision of our church. These best practices serve as a tool to maximize the empowerment that technology provides while minimizing liabilities.
