All staff report to a supervisor in accomplishing our duties and evaluating our job performance, standards, and expectations. In most organizations, employee development begins and ends in that relationship. At Grace, we recognize and affirm the need for development in other, more holistic ways. We each also need coaching and mentoring to grow. The definitions of coaches and mentors can be found in the image below.
Some employees will find coaching and/or mentoring in their relationship with their supervisor, and some will not. In order to ensure that every staffer enjoys all 3 types of input and development, we will provide means, tools, and connections (in the context of one, two, or three personal relationships) as needed.
In addition to the personal and professional policies and expectations found in our HR policy, we feel it is important for employees to understand how to advance professionally within our organization. To that end, we’ve created a visual depiction, highlighting the titles for both operational and ministerial track job positions, and the necessary education and requirements for promotional advancement.
