Contributions are made to a deferred salary plan for all Full-time and Part-time Partial Benefits employees of the Church. Eligibility for participation in this program is restricted and applies only to certain permanent employees. Detailed information is available from the Operations Team to determine if an employee qualifies. The Church contributes to a 403(b) account in the employee’s name a discretionary and predetermined percentage of the eligible employee’s gross salary at no cost to the employee. Employees will have ownership (vesting) in the funds contributed by the church on the following schedule: 0% ownership for 0-12 months, 33% ownership after 1 year, 66% after 2, and 100% after 3. Eligible employees may elect to contribute to their 403(b) in addition to the Church’s contribution through a payroll deduction which can be tax deferred or contributed after taxes deferred. The amount of this additional contribution may be limited based on the tax laws governing retirement plans. Employees needing more information regarding tax laws must seek the advice of a tax professional.
High-quality retirement benefits help you build long-term financial security. Our plan features a 3-year graded vesting schedule for employer contributions.
Vesting represents your legal ownership of the money the employer adds to your retirement account. You always own 100% of your own contributions from day one. Employer funds become yours over time on the following schedule:
If you leave the church before three years, you keep your personal savings and the vested percentage of the employer's match. Once you hit your three-year anniversary, every dollar the employer has contributed is yours.
Once you become eligible for our retirement contribution, we will email you a link to register and create an account with Guidestone. If they don’t approve your account, please let @Anonymous group know.
